Response to current ongoing public health crisis

Dear Patron:

Your health and safety are our primary concerns. Amid the flood of emerging and rapidly changing COVID-19 developments, advice and regulations, we are all suddenly learning what a global pandemic requires of us all – and it is difficult for everyone.

In accordance with local, state and national mandates, coupled with adherence to “best practices” to contain the spread of COVID-19, the Stockton Symphony Board of Directors has elected to cancel all special events and remaining concerts through the remainder of the 2019/20 season (May 2020).

In the face of this crisis, all of us extend our compassion, solidarity, safety, and support for our Symphony family and our whole community.

Canceled events include:

• March 20 – Donor dinner with the musicians
• March 21 – Pre-concert and post-concert receptions
• March 21 – Classics 4 Concert – Timeless Treasures
• April 18 – Classics 5 Concert – Romantic Adventure
• May 3 – POPS 4 – Bette, Babs and Beyond

This decision represents our best judgment on practical steps we can all take to reduce risk for our community and ourselves. We realize the spread and containment of COVID-19 will require decisions that affect not only Symphony concerts and programs, but the lives of many individuals, in many ways. Additionally, we are aware that the steps we are taking to protect the health of the community may involve inconvenience and personal sacrifice. We are grateful for your understanding and goodwill.

We continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will follow guidance from public health officials and government agencies, so we can make ongoing assessments in the best interest of our patrons, staff and entire community.
